Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Paper Hare collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through the store.
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Who we are
Paper Hare operates an online store for wrapping paper. In this policy, “Paper Hare,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Paper Hare. We are responsible for the personal information we collect through this store.
Information we collect
We collect information that you provide, information created when you use the store, and information needed to complete a purchase.
- Account information: your name, email address, account activity, and information needed to secure and support your account.
- Order information: your email address, shipping name, shipping address, telephone number, products, quantities, prices, taxes, discounts, order status, payment status, delivery, and tracking details.
- Support information: your name, email address, order number, and the message or other information you choose to send through the contact page.
- Store activity: search terms, search results, product views, add-to-bag events, and a randomly generated session identifier used to understand how the storefront is used. We hash that identifier before storing it in analytics records.
- Browser storage: your bag contents and checkout state may be stored in your browser so the bag works between pages. The store does not need your payment card number to keep a bag.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information through the contact form.
How we use information
We use personal information only for purposes connected to operating Paper Hare, including to:
- provide the storefront, shopping bag, customer accounts, and order pages;
- process payments, calculate applicable taxes, and prevent or investigate fraud and misuse;
- make, fulfill, ship, and support orders, including sending delivery and tracking updates;
- respond to questions and connect support requests with the relevant order or account;
- understand search and product activity, improve the storefront, and maintain its security and reliability;
- send account, password, order, support, and other service messages; and
- comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms and policies.
Payments and fulfillment
Checkout is provided by Stripe. Stripe receives the information required to process your payment and collect your shipping details. Paper Hare does not store complete payment card numbers.
Orders are fulfilled through our fulfillment and shipping partners. They receive the order details needed to prepare and deliver your purchase, including your name, email address, telephone number, shipping address, and order items.
When we share information
We share personal information only when it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. This includes sharing information with:
- payment, fraud-prevention, tax, and checkout providers;
- fulfillment, production, shipping, and tracking providers;
- email delivery providers that send order, account, and support messages;
- hosting, database, storage, security, and technical service providers that operate the store; and
- law-enforcement, regulators, courts, professional advisers, or other parties when required or permitted by law.
We may also disclose information as part of a sale, merger, financing, reorganization, or other transfer of all or part of our business. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not currently use third-party advertising or targeted-advertising trackers on the storefront.
Cookies and similar technologies
Paper Hare uses browser storage, cookies, and similar technologies to make the store work. These technologies may be used to:
- remember items, quantities, and checkout state in your bag;
- maintain account and security sessions;
- remember a session identifier for first-party search and product analytics; and
- protect the store from misuse and distinguish automated traffic from customer activity.
You can clear or block cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Some parts of the store, including your bag, account, or checkout, may not work correctly after necessary storage is disabled.
Email and marketing choices
We send transactional and service messages, such as account verification, password recovery, order confirmation, shipping, delivery, and support messages. We do not currently maintain a promotional mailing list or send third-party advertising email. If that changes, we will provide the notices and choices required by applicable law.
Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described here, including to provide services, complete transactions, maintain business and tax records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, securely dispose of it, or remove its identifying details when reasonably possible.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, theft, unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No online service or method of transmission is completely secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will respond and provide notices when required by applicable law.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of information, subject to legal and operational exceptions;
- request a copy of information in a portable format where the law provides that right; and
- object to or limit certain uses, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity and ask for information that helps us locate your records. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
International processing
Our service providers may process personal information in Canada, the United States, or other locations where they operate. Those locations may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live. We use service providers that are expected to protect information and process it only for authorized purposes.
Children
Paper Hare is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

We may update this policy when our store, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date. The updated policy applies from the date it is published unless a different effective date is stated.
